UP WILD CHURCH
What is a Story Group?
A story group is a small group in a brave safe space consisting of a trained facilitator and up to six participants.
One of the primary ways you are invited to engage at Story Groups is by sharing written stories from your childhood and young adult life. These stories are important windows to gain a deeper understanding of what has shaped you into who you are today, and are a helpful way to invite you toward discovery, growth, healing, and moving toward healthier relational patterns for the future.
Why Story Groups?
No one escapes harm over the course of their lifetime. Trauma is not heirarchial, it is a spectrum. It manifests as wounds stored in our bodies and is unique is each of us. Therefore, we all have stories that need healing and restoration. The truth is there are very few contexts in which the full extent of harm and heartache in the human experience can be explored in a way that brings healing. This is especially lacking in our traditional church communities, in fact, in many cases,
it was our church experience that created some of these wounds.
When you share your story in the presence of others, you move towards healing.
If your inner critic is saying, "What is wrong with me?"
Story Groups reframe the question to:
"What happened or is happening to me."
When we address this, we go from hurting ➡️ healing ➡️ wholeness
Our Story Group will meet for six consecutive Thursdays 6-8pm.
Cost is $200/per participant and space is limited to 6 people.
The cost goes towards Grace who assists with safe facilitation.

We are creating a community based around healing through art, nature, and conversation
Why?
With the increased usage of technology, the high amounts of mental health stresses it is important to spend time on ourselves in intentional ways and to connect with our peers as much as possible.
Healing can be done in many ways, shapes, and forms, through things we love to do and through things that make us feel at peace. Here, we are free to share our spiritual histories where our vulnerability is met with understanding, creativity, and nature play.

What we will be doing

connection
sharing stories, conversation, safe space
in nature
healing, hiking, serenity
Surrendering to the understanding that healing can be a collaborative process; where one is safe to share and others are able to resonate without judgment or advice. That the first step to healing is being heard which enables us to take the next right step in our lives. There is a healing presence in nature; it is a natural and spiritual resource. If there is a Great Spirit, Mystery of all Life, Creator God surely living in and within all things - a wild and loving presence
then that can be an important part of our healing process and life journey.
This is the core of what is U.P. Wild. That by beholding the beauty and feeling the essence of wonder & awe, we know a lasting peace that nothing in the world can take from us. It is this relationship we seek to cultivate (while also sipping some fresh grown tea & exhibiting the silly joys of which makes life so wonderful).
Our Reason
Culture is tough
Church is rough
Connection is enough
